In this overwhelmingly violent world of fantasy where children can walk around with an arsenal of weapons it amazes me that more incidents such as the columbine massacre have not yet occurred. With the power of a submachine gun at your fingertips and having the option to point and shoot at anyone you please is all the conditioning one would need to go and do such a thing in the real world.
The idea that the television or computer screen is another medium to parenting is very truthful. Although the effect of violence on television appears to be very subtle it can have a lasting outcome on those children who are very young. Every kid has a one point in there life been plopped down in front of the entertainment screen to keep them out of moms hair while she’s busy. They take images that they passively see on television and convey them into the real world. Children younger than age 10 have a very tough time distinguishing between reality and fantasy.
