Jim Crow Laws

The Ethics of Living Jim Crow is about the life of a black man during the period of the Jim Crow laws. It talks about his childhood. It tells of a child trying to be a child, but being separated from the white children. The white children's yard was green with grass and bushes, while the blacks' yards were covered with cinders. It then tells about his first job in an optical company. He suffered many setbacks working for this company; he was a good worker. He was not allowed to learn anything. He was expected to just do his job and keep to himself. It also tells of his job working at a clothing store. Where he watched his bosses beat up a black lady for being late


Japanese people were herded up like Jews in Germany, although they were not treated as harsh as the Jews were. Japanese people (and other minorities) are discriminated against (and stereotypes) still. They also still experience threats on their lives and are sometimes killed. It tells of the problems that he had trying to obtain a regular job in the community. Blacks are discriminated against still. It talks about all the possible scenarios that could have happened. It finally discussed his overall work experiences. " The theme of this article tells the problems that other minorities have had in the US. All the Japanese Americans that contributed to Japan, or were considered "Japanesey. This article related to today's society very well. Death of a Teenager Widens a Racial Rift between two Towns tells the story of a young boy that had everything going for him until the day of his untimely death. Their incomes differentiate greatly. The differences are huge between these to towns.
