Homer progresses morally and learns what to do in a moral dilemma. Homer takes the doctor's kit sent to him by Dr. He becomes a more caring and compassionate person, helping when others are suffering. During the abortion, Homer talks to Wally, convincing him that Candy will be in good hands, and in good health. Afterwards, a young lady, Candy Kendall, accompanied by her air force officer boyfriend, Wally Worthington, arrive at the orphanage, requesting for an abortion. After the procedure, Homer decides to leave the orphanage to experience life outside St. Larch, and performs the abortion, though it is against his beliefs. Homer knows that Rose Rose's life will be ruined if she has a baby, especially one from her own father, so he puts his personal beliefs aside, and does what must be done. Homer begins to see that morals are not what are taught, but what one deems to have the best outcome.
