ADHD

ADD refers to a family of related chronic neurological disorders that interfere with an individual's capacity to relate activity level (hyperactivity), inhibit behavior (impulsivity), and attends to tasks (inattention) in developmentally appropriate ways. ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) or ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) are mostly the same disorder. In ADHD there is an added complex which is hyperactivity, that is found most in boys. These disorders first detected in the early 1970's and did not receive thorough research untill years later. ADHD is inherited in genes by someone in the family, usually a parent. There is no actual diagnosis; the closest to a diagnosis is behavior observation and questioning the child. In ADHD there are some disadvantages, but there are also many advantages. Some disadvantages are short attention span, difficulty listening, not following through, disorganized, lazy, easily distractible, forgetful, moves restlessly, and impulsive. On the other side, advantages are high energy, creativity, intuitiveness, resourcefulness, tenacity, dedication, warmheartedness, trusting and forgiving, sensitive, flexibility, good sense of humor, and loyalty.() These traits do not apply to all and have di

They abuse it by snorting it or taking more than perscribed. It is a good way to help ADHD people with their uncontrollable traits. After the 1970's Ritalin became a controlled substance. Also, the person's sensitivity towards the drug and even the kind or amount of other medication one is taking has effects. These stimulants help their brain slow down, pay attention, and increase focus. In a medical opinion it is not good for patients to rely on medication alone. Although it's not a large number of ADHD teenagers, a small number does abuse this drug. I can't stress the point enough of understanding ADHD and knowing what you can do for yourself. Although this is something everyone should practice, it particularly helps people with this disorder. In my opinion the most important alternative method is to understand what is going on. This means new drugs or multiple medications at once. Doctors have found Ritalin to have no negative effects on the body during longterm use. Also, there is a small improvement in some measures of learning and memory with a regular exercise program. It's only a six-hour retreat form the reality of it all.
