Ernest Hemingway

Ernest Hemingway is probably one of the most well known writers of American literature today and for years to come. He is known so well because of his all around different style from the way he writes too the way he switched from women to women. His life and works will be covered by four major topics which are Biography, Writing Style, Contributions, and Major Work. Ernest Hemingway was born in a middle class home that his father built with his own bare hands, his home was located in Oak Park, Illinois. Ernest Hemingway was born at eight o'clock on July 21 1899. Ernest Hemingway was the second child of six, the rest of his family consisted of four sisters and on brother. Ernest Hemingway was the son of Dr. Clarence and Grace Hall Hemingway. He was named after his maternal grandfather Ernest Hall (Wilson). Ernest Hemingway was born in the upper middle-class suburb known as Oak Park. Ernest Hemingway was taught to work hard at what ever he did, have a strong religion, and always stay in top physical shape. Hemingways parents told him that if he followed these guide lines that he would be able to succeed in any field that he chose to work in (Wilson). Ernest Hemingway refered to Oak Park as a town of wide lawns a

It was his last work that he would see published (Wilson). The setting takes place on a bridge in the African Ebro Delta. It was never published because he thought that it wasn't good enough (Wilson). He also tried to learn the main points about music from his mother. CONTRIBUTIONS Ernest Hemingway won the Nobel Prize in 1954, but he was injured from a plane crash in Africa. That is why he will be studied for years to come. After having an affair with Martha Gellhorn for about four years he divorced Pauline. There was a control in his writing that hadn't been evident in a long time (Wilson). That is why I believe he killed himself the way he did is because he could not stand to not be able to do what he loved so much and he felt less of a man because of it. Ernest Hemingway believes when you writes, you write for either yourself, your only love, or for perfection (Phillips, 13-14) A reader does not need to read indepth in his books to find Ernest Hemingways social feelings (Bloom, 9). Ernest Hemingway believed that if you didn't take a break from writing that you would go stale. Critics said that he was to boring and way to sentimental in Across the Rivers and into the Trees (Wilson). He started his new life with Pauline in Key West.
