The book Obsidian Butterfly, written by Laurell K. Hamilton, was based on a world where all creatures existed. Werewolves,vampires, shapeshifters, witches, warlocks, and anything else your imagination could come up with was there. All these creatures existed in the modern world, though only few knew of them. In the end the warlock was killed and everything went back to normal. Anita uncovers an evil power possesing the undead. Left as skinned and mangled pieces of flesh. And it would have only seemed like a half an hour. Even though she was a christian herself, other religious followers, including other christians, did not believe in her ways. I dont normally get into science fiction, but this novel blew me away. Later, after they've found four survivors in countless murders, she discovers that they arent survivors at all. The warlock attempts to make Anita his greatest sacrifice when their backups, Olaf and Bernardo, come in and overtake the warlock. It was non-stop action throughout the entire story. He had invented a large lizard-like creature. This was the monster who had taken all the lives in such a gruesome fashion.
