Wall street the movie
1) Gordon Gekko is played by Michael Douglas. In the film, he is an egotistical, power hungry, greedy, millionaire. Gordon will do anything for money, no matterwhat the cost to himself . He used all of the people are him to his advantage andthen disposed of them when he was done. This can be seen as both a strengthand a weakness. He was a very ambitious character that would not give up untilthe bitter end. Once this ambitious gets out of control though, it can also bringyou down lead to your demise. The only thing he valued was his money and hehad no moral values. The only thing that he sum what respected waspartnership, but he even broke his promises to his own partners in the case ofBud and Blue Star Airlines. As for his social values, he remains a respectableupper class businessman, who acts as if he doesn't have a flaw on him. In hispersonal life he has everything he could possibly want, but all he sees hispossessions as are points on the score board of life. I admire the man for hisambition and a business man becomes the job he is in is a kill or be killedbusiness. However, there are more legal ways he could have done his killinginstead of taking all of the short cuts in life.
Though he still sticks up for Bud in the endand tries to still guide him down the right path. I simply wouldn't be able to lose or gain so much money in one day, because it would make me be too nervous. Personally I feel she is a golddigging leach. He watches over Bud and seeshow Bud is making all of his success. It is unfortunate, but it usuallydoes take human suffering for us to realize that what we are doing is wrong. Once he saw whatGekko was doing to all of these innocent people first hand, he realized the typeof person he was becoming and put a stop to it. People are portrayed in this film to be very selfish and profit-motivated. She may comesoff as being a very socially acceptable women, but she is in fact really a personwho cannot make it on her own in the world. He was at one point exactly like Gekko, butthen had a question of morals and changed his ways. Throughout the movie Carl's serves as aguardian for Bud. The more illegal things he did, the less of a good character hewas. I do not like her at all and I think her character was created forjust such a reaction. Once Bud agrees to help her get her business onto the market, she clings evenmore to his wallet. As his morals gradually disappear, hisstrengths as a businessman increase, his relentless attitude and cut throattactics take over. The greatest show of his growth was inturning his back on Gekko and his plans to liquidate Blue Star Airlines and doingthe right thing for his father's company.
