How To Build A Computer

             Computers these days are not cheap they can cost as much as $2,500. For a layperson, buying a computer can be a huge headache. People who do not understand the terms such as motherboard, hard drive, and ram written in a computer ad can be very confused. Understanding these terms gives the knowledge and the keys of the computer itself. A person might not think that building a computer is just like following a recipe for a certain type of food, but that is the way it is. In order to build a computer, one must get the right parts and then follow the recipe of putting the parts in one by one. Since computer's cost a lot of money, the cheapest and most effective way of getting one is to build it.
             The most essential parts of a computer are motherboards, hard drive, cpu (central processing unit), and memory (ram). The motherboard is the central component in computers, and allows other devices to be plugged into it such as a sound card, video card, and a network card, etc. The motherboard is known as the "brain" of the computer because every component will always be in the motherboard or connected to it. Motherboards can range in price from $100 to $350. Next is deciding how fast the computer will be. The cpu, which is the central processing unit, decides this. Cpu is measured in megahertz and can be from 500 to 1000 MHZ. A cpu can be as low as $50 to as expensive as $400. The memory or ram also connected to the motherboard gives the computer speed. Depending on the motherboard, the ram will be either PC-100 or PC-133, and be in sticks of 64,128, and 256. The hard drive is not on the motherboard, but is connected to it. The hard drive allows a person to put programs on it. The hard drive ranges from two gigabytes to eighty gigabytes.
