Congress has the power, which is given to them under the "Interstate Commerce Clause" to prohibit criminals and other people from obtaining firearms at gun shows illegally. Also, the day care shooting in Granada Hills involved guns that were purchased illegally at gun shows without a background check. It's a known fact that some of the guns that are purchased from non-licensed gun shows are used in criminal acts. 81 percent of the people in the United States think that all guns should have to go through the Brady background check and a 5-day waiting period. The government is trying to get the sale of firearms at gun shows to go through the Brady Background Check system, which would require all sales of firearms to people would require a background check and a waiting period before they would receive the weapon. These shows not only encourage the purchasing of guns by criminals, but also underage teenagers. This would help insure the kind of person that is receiving the gun isn't going to use it for illegal purposes. Most of the guns that were used in school shootings were purchased at gun shows by underage kids without a background check. If we were to enforce it at the gun shows, it would make a huge difference.
