Censorship has been a large issue in the history of the United States for quitesome time. Though this is the home of the free and land of the brave, how far does thefreedom go? Current censorship completely holds back literary works that are made into Currently, 40 percent of the population opposes censorship. The other 60 percentof the population either do not care about censorship or promotes it. The entertainmentindustry is one of the largest parts of the country's income, to shut it down would betragic to the economy. Fiction is the largest type of movie made and watched because of the entertaining andwild action and sexual scenes The United States has made some of the best movies thatthe world will ever see such as: Lethal Weapon, Braveheart, and The Godfather. Movies suchas Toy story are no exception. More and more sex, violence and profanity market their way into movies. Motion Pictures have played a large part in the lives of millions of people for thepast 70 years. Teenagers and children have a fear of openness with their parents. The factors that these movies hold in common are the awesome gun/sword fights, explosionsand sex, all of which is usually necessary to succeed as a good action movie. If childish cartoon movies are acceptable with a violentplot of stopping and beating up the " bad guy" of the story, then why not real actionmovies? Any and all entertainment is based off of human emotions of anger and sexualtendencies. Each day, it becomesharder and harder for a parent to realize that the truth is harder to tell than some halfbaked story of storks and cabbage patches. The creators of such literary works must decide if his/her creation is to beripped apart by the censorship monsters just to be brought to the US Supposedly, the first amendment gives us the freedom of speech. Why is thisamendment that our forefathers wrote being taken away from the hard working people inthe nation? The United States is glorified as the country where any and all decisions aremade by the people, not the government or any orginazation. Organizations such as the FCC and AMPA limit thepeople of the supposed "free nation" from what they can or cannot see and hear. In Europe, the children and teens have little orno discomfort when confronting parents with similar issues simply because sex andviolence is shown on that miracle box in the living room. Each day, aparents tells his/her child the truth about where babies come from. Most would agree it is now the landof the *beep* and the home of the *beep*. Europe,mainly England, Germany, France and Russia, has seen a dramatic decrease in teenpregnancy and homicide since censorship does not exist in those countries.
