I have recently just completed reading your fabulous book Garden of Graves, a biography on serial killer Joel Rifkin. It was an outstanding piece of writing and I really enjoyed reading it. This letter is to show you my appreciation towards you for making this book available to me.The way Rifkin killed those seventeen prostitutes out of cold blood was a major tragedy. I am glad that you brought the matter to the publics attention. The most important lesson I got out of reading the story is not to make fun of people. All of the victims had both family and friends who really cared for them. Not only did I gain knowledge on Rifkin, your book gave me a basic understanding of other serial killers such as Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, Robert Sale, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Andrei Chikatilo. Stranded, Joel had to call his father to drive over three hours just to pick him up. You would think that it would be enough for a seventy one year old mother to find out her son is a serial killer. If Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were not made fun of in school, we may never have witnessed the tragic events that occurred in Denver, Colorado. The police didn't even examine on of the body of Leah Evans properly to find out she was strangled. I learned a lot of new things from your book. If Joel Rifkin wasn't made fun of in school, we may never have witnessed the tragic events that occurred in Long Island, New York. Reporters just wouldn't leave the Rifkin family alone. Instead they pronounced her dead due to a drug overdose which was probably not a true examination, instead a false assumption. If Luke Woodham wasn't made fun of in school, we may have never witnessed the tragic events that occurred in Pearl, Mississippi. When prostitutes begin to go missing or be found dead in barrels, officers seem to care less. Another significant matter brought to my attention was the corruption of the police system.
