Animal Farm
In Animal Farm, by George Orwell, there are many different kinds of animals present on the farm. Some are very learned, while others never took the time to study. However, they all had one thing in common, they were all mistreated by Mr. Jones. The animals exiled Mr. Jones because of inequality since he received more food and did less work than the animals. The animals started the rebellion with the dream of equality, however after only a short time inequality came back into their lives. At the start of the novel, inequality was prevalent as humans had life much easier. Man rarely worked, and when he did he worked with much less energy " (m)an is the only creature that consumes without producing" (pg. 29). Even though animals worked hard and
The pigs became power hungry, and once they realized that they could have an easy life they no longer cared about their comrades and became human "(t)he creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which" (pg. The animals did twice the work of the humans yet received half as much food and were mistreated horribly. In fact, the other animals even feared the pigs ". Just like in Animal Farm, all men aren't created equal. People don't just live with oppression and persecution forever, they will fight back to end it and history will repeat itself just like in the book. The pigs had life much easier and replaced the men of the first Manor Farm. All of the animals were friends, or comrades, and there was no such thing as hatred, except towards man "four legs good, two legs bad" (pg. hardly raising their faces from the ground, not knowing whether to be more frightened of the pigs or of the human visitors" (pg. After the banishment of Jones, all animals were equal.
