Religion is a very important aspect in life. It is also one of the characteristics that describes who we are. Religion influences a lot of what we do. It also influences us on how to dress, act, and treat others. So it is safe to say that religion is a tool to help us know ourselves. The religions that will be described in this report are Christianity and Taoism. Both have been practiced for a long time, but also have their differences.

Christianity basically started in 313 AD. This was a time when Christians started putting together their essential beliefs and practices. It was also a time when the Romans were persecuting the early Christians. After some years, the Roman Empire started to accept the development of the church and promoted building churches, monasteries, missions, efforts, and discussions. In 380 AD, Christianity became the official religion of the empire.

In the Chinese language the word Tao means “way,” showing a way of thought or life. Taoism was founded by a man name Lao Tzu. He started this philosophy around 221 BC- 220 AD. It started out as a cult in the Han dynasty. It was said that emperors of their cult preformed sacrifices to the furnace. Which would allow him to call on spiritual beings. The spi

Some people believe that Lao- Tzu was the only man to write the most translated work in all the literature of China. Later it was viewed as a philosophical thought and with the influence of the Buddha, it became a folk religion. ” This is what salvation is all about.

Taoism was the chief religious and philosophical system in China, until Buddhism came.

In Christianity Jesus is God who came down to earth to save mankind from eternal damnation. The beginning of Taoism is lost forever. With these gods come revelation, wisdom, and texts. He is also the essence of Christianity. The key writing that Christians use is the Bible.

This report was not only informative but also taught me of an another culture and religion. Its begging is usually ascribed to a mysterious master teacher, Lao- tzu, who is supposed to have written the basic text. And of course to be the savior of all people.
