A women’s physical self-worth and other important self-perceptions such as body image can be improved by playing sports. When a woman gives into these ideals that is when problems with the way she views herself begin to surface. Once a woman has goals, she can work towards the goal and create a better work ethic to be motivated. Women who do not participate in sports usually diet or stress over their weight. There are no noted negative side effects of exercise treatment of depression; in most cases there are only positive occurrences. During out session body temperature increases, beta-endorphins increase, there is reduced muscle tension, there is and increase in parasympathetic activity, thus resulting in a reduction in the excitability of the nervous system. Following regular exercise women will notice daily activities become easier, such as; walking up a flight of stairs, running to a bus, playing with a dog. Women also take it upon themselves to just stress over the fact that they do not fit this ideal that society has created and just eat more.
