Television has become a leading form of entertainment in today's society. After dinner, after school or any free time is the perfect time to relax and watch some television. There are all kinds of TV programs nowadays and it seems there's something for everyone. Everything from documentaries, the news and comedy programs, its truly hard to resist watching television. However, with the mass amounts of television violence these days, the negative effects of this violence have begun to show in the real world. Undoubtedly, one of the most common and negative influences in today's society is television violence. It happens every time we turn on the television, such violence is a negative influence on children and there are many safeguards that parents can use to prevent children from watching this violence.
             Much of today's television programming contains some form of violence. Informative programs such a local newscasts contain much violence. Although the news is just a report of current events, it contains both good and bad stories. Violence such as assaults, vandalism and even homicides are usually an integral part of our everyday newscasts. Another violent show that has become very popular these days is wrestling. A show all about people fighting and conflicting pain on one another is a total negative influence in today's society. The fact that such programming is so popular today shows that many people accept this type of violence in their households.
