Christian (Bible) vs. Islam (Qur'an) Over the past month, the Nation has heard much about the Islam (Qur'an) beliefs and how they differ greatly from Christianity beliefs. The Qur'an is the sacred book of the Muslims. The name Qur'an, or Koran in English translation, means a recitation or something to be recited. The influence of the Qur'an is great. It is one of the most widely read books in the world. Its teachings formed the basis of the great Islamic civilization of the past, and it still guides and inspires millions of Muslims. It is the final authority in matters of faith and practice for all Muslims. The reverence for the holy book is so great that thousands of Muslims learn it by heart. After completing a study over various topics within the Qur'an and the Holy Bible, one of the books that has the greatest contrast is the story of Adam and Eve. If we compare the Bible to the Qur'an, we can clearly see that Eve, the mother of all human beings, has a different standing in each book. Do the men within the Christianity faith blame it on Eve? Christian teachers allege the Qur'an is nothing more than false stories and sayings by the Prophet of Islam, Mohammed (founder of the Islamic religion). The Islam teachings hold everyone responsible for his or her sins. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he at it. The Bible states in Deuteronomy 5:7-8, "You shall have no other gods before me," and the Qur'an 47:19 states, "There is no other god besides our God. ghts with men, even if they are more qualified?In the Bible, Genesis 3:1-24, a serpent convinced the woman (Eve) to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree. When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. True Islam teachersbelieve the Holy Bible to be corrupted by men who downplay the status of women, and altered by men who have more interests other than serving God alone. The only agreement that both faiths can agree on is there is but only One God. Adam and Eve hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden because they were afraid of being naked. " If this is true in both faiths, why was Adam not held equally responsible for eating from the forbidden tree as Eve and receive the same punishment in the Biblical passage?Many questions are left open between these two books.
