About two weeks ago, I viewed George Orwell's Animal Farm, I had no background on this movie, so I didn't know what to expect, I had heard of the book, but had no preconceived opinion on it. So, I was very interested to see what it was all about. Today we will talk about the movie Animal Farm, what it was about? We will also talk about leadership issues: Is it possible to lead without selfish motives? Do tensions exist between serving self and serving others ethically? Other topics and questions will also arise throughout the paper, so sit back, pour a cup of coffee, and get comfy. Before we look at the issues concerning leadership, we should first get an idea on what the movie was about. I choose not to do it for the good of the store, much like the animals of Animal Farm made many personal sacrifices for the good of the farm. Well, as a manager, I am faced with customers offering me large amounts of money to obtain these shoes early. The theme in the movie being that in every society there are leaders who will, if given the chance, likely abuse their position. As you can imagine, tensions around the work place are high around this time. Snowball, a white and pure pig, unites the animals and makes seven laws, which are the basis for which they would live. Soon Old Major does die, but his words still echo in the hearts of all the animals. But what happens out in the real world? In doing the right thing I have had multiple experiences in making ethical experiences. But what kinds of tensions arise from leading ethically? Well in Animal Farm, the tensions sparked between the animals, and napoleon. He continues to tell the animals that their labor is stolen by man, who benefits alone. I am a Assistant Manager at Champs Sports, but when I lead, In the back of my head, I want to do a good job, to get that raise, or that promotion, or praise from my boss, or even more importantly to gain the confidence in my team at work. I know that's a bad way to put things, especially talking about two terrific leaders, but it is true.
