Bluest Eye
The novel The Bluest Eye deals with the absence of love in a child's life. By reading the novel it was obvious that Pecola had no love in her life. Pecola didn't even have the love that a family is supposed to provide. I'm sure her mother loved her, but she never showed affection towards her daughter. Pecola's self-image was nonexistent, because of this lack of love. She had to go through her life not knowing what love even was. She had to ask Claudia and Fredia how do you get someone to love you. This was a simple question because Pecola had no models to go off of. This relates to my life before because as a kid I would have dumb thoughts that no one loved me and I felt hurt inside. I felt as if I ha
Nobody would even sit with her at school. There was nobody to tell Pecola that she looked nice, or she was smart, or any other small type of compliment of that nature. I t usually wasn't true but my way of thinking has made my self believe that before. I don't think it had to be family but just someone she could go to and someone that would let her know the good in herself. I think her parents had a lot to do with the way she thought and acted. She could have a more positive self-image if her parents gave her a compliment or two every now and then. I've always felt that I had very little friend and hat some of the friends I have were just acting like they were my friends. Her parents should have taught her to be positive and that beauty comes from within. I've gotten better with the way I am but I'm still quiet and I don't think I talk every much. I think that all this could have been different if somebody was there for Pecola. Because she didn't talk to people or had no social skills is why she didn't have any friends. People have complemented me throughout the years but I have never believed the complement.
