Odyssey Summaries

             Book 1: Athena, with the permision of Zues, visits Telemachus disguised as Mentes and tells Telemachus that Odysseus (his father) is alive; Telemachus gets inspire to rid Ithaca of the suitors because of Athena's words.
             Book 2:Telemachus talks to the suitors and tells them that they will be punished; Athena helps Telemachus organize a crew to search for his father.
             Book 3:gives Telemachus supplies and the aid of his son, Peisistratus.
             Book 4:Telemachus and Athena disguised as Mentes set sail to visit King Nestor, who tells Telemachus to go to Sparta with his son Pisistatus to see Menelaus, who might know about his father's location.
             Book 5:Athena helped per sway the gods to free Odysseus from Calypso; Calypso gives Odysseus supplies and Odysseus sets sail on a hand made raft that is soon ship wrecked to the island of the Phaeacians by Poseidon.
             Book 6: Odysseus wakes up in the presence of the princess Nausieaa where she gives Odysseus cloughs and tells him to go to the palace Arete, with out her.
             Book 7: As Odysseus reached the palace with the help of Athena, Odysseus begs for help to the Queen who ends up promising him a boat home tomorrow in the morning; in the evening Odysseus must explain his encounter with Nausieaa.
             Book 8:Odysseus is still at the island of the Phaeacians where he is being entertained by a singer named Demodacus who makes Odysseus cry; later on Odysseus wins in some games and ends up telling about his Journeys.
             Book 9:Odysseus encounters the land of the Cyclops where he and his crew are trapped in the cave of Polyphemus, son of Poseidon; Polyphemus eats some of the crew and drinks the wine that Odysseus offers him and soon falls asleep just as Odysseus and his men gouge his one eye which is when the crew hide under some sheep to get past Polyphemus who then ends up begging his father to punish Odysseus by preventing him from ever returning home.
