Drug control as Crime control
Drug-related offenses and drug-using lifestyles are major contributors to the U.S. crime problem. These criminals are in a constant search for ways to satisfy their addiction. Their addictions generally lead to illegal acts to obtain money to buy drugs. Addiction is the downward spiral which these people direct themselves. In this day and age which consists of such horrible acts of habit we must ask ourselves: What would America be like without drugs? The answer is simple: the crime rates would plummet and we would live in an extraordinarily safer environment. The quality of people in general would rise significantly, meaning better workers and learners. It is true, in the past there have been efforts to minimize drug use, but these have proven to be unsuccessful. It is apparent that the youth is now aware of the effects of drugs but it has made a very small difference in the overall number of users in America. Over time the drug problem has grown tremendously. It is a building that story by story has grown into a skyscraper now threatening our society with its instability. I
Abusers of illegal substances have created a new idea that drugs are okay to use. This will develop our society into a higher force. The government will keep a tally and a list of those who make reports. Each attempt to rid of the drug problem in the past has failed. Many teenagers believe using drugs is entertainment. Not only will the United States as a country feel more confident, but each individual will be able to have the confidence in their own personal soberness and safety improving many different people's lives. If America did not have to worry about drug-users, they might not need to worry about so much crime. Therefore, I propose the perfect answer. People must realize that drugs are a big deal. These may consist of psychological and physical tests. This might include prison time or a fine. As for those proven to be under the influence, they will be taken to a boot camp where they will be drilled and agonized for their crime. A daily inspection of homes, cars, and possessions in each neighborhood will ensure that every addict is caught. If anyone were to hear of someone using drugs, someone with an addiction of any kind, or of involvement relating to drugs, they must report them to the authorities.
