Abortion: Pro-Choice

Abortion is one of the most controversial and hotly debated topics of this day and age. The reason for this surrounds the idea of whether the induced expulsion of the fetus is murder or rather in the interest of the mother. Pro-life activists debate that all life in the instant of its conception is innocent and deserves a chance at life. God chooses its time of life and death, not the mother. Pro-choice followers often argue in favor of science and the United States Constitutional Ninth Amendment, which holds freedom of choice sacred. The first patient is the mother, and she is the one who allows the pregnancy to happen or not. Personally, I am pro-choice; however, I am not pro-abortion. Pro-abortion zealots believe abortion is right for whatever reason the mother has, and basically acts as a sort contraception. This displays a poor conscience and lack of responsibility. This paper will argue in favor of pro-choice while reinforcing the wrongs of pro-abortion.The strongest point of argument of pro-choice versus pro-life activists is the idea of when the fetus is living. For pro-life activists, there are two opinions. The first overwhelming opinion is that once the child is conceived, it is living. The second follow

Also, if the mother is a teenager, almost indefinitely her life will be completely altered, leaving her unable to live her life as a normal adolescent. Unfortunately, she is not the only case. Other times, they allow back-alley clinics to perform the surgery, but these men are not doctors, they are often bartenders, or even auto-mechanics hoping to make some money. They pour into hospitals with rampant infections, often falling death to their own acts of desperation. Yes, these facilities do exist, but the biological mother remains the mother, and they should have a choice of whether they want their own child to be delivered into the hands of another family or remain unborn until she is ready to care for it herself. Another argument for the pro-life party is that even if the mother does not want to care for the child after the pregnancy, she can bring the child to an orphanage or foster care facilities. The scientific facts are overwhelmingly in favor of the pro-choice viewpoint in that the fetus is completely dependent of the mother during the first trimester of her pregnancy. Unfortunately, even as abortion is legal today, these facilities are overwhelming overpopulated. These lack of funds and attention will or may subject this child to malnutrition, neglect, abuse and/or trauma. A surprising story comes from Whoopi Goldberg who, after discovering she was pregnant at the age of fourteen, performed an abortion with a coat-hanger. Its cerebral cortex does not appear till the second trimester, thus meaning it can feel no pain in its first 12 weeks of gestation. Why subject the child or the mother to this? Welfare may be able to aid the mother, but face it, it is very harsh to base a mother's life and her child's life on this mean. But as a pro-choice follower, I believe abortion is an issue of women, and so it should be the woman's right to choose. It is not to say that since the Roe v. Often, they are raised with the overwhelming feeling of being unwanted and rejected by their mother.
