Rap Music

             In the early 1980s the face of music changed forever. People like Grand Master Flash introduced Rap music to the world. Although it was in its early stages of development it spread through the country in no time. The reactions to this form of music were mixed; in fact people wanted to see the end of it. On the other hand, many people see Rap music as having value to the listener, take the music to be inspirational, and see it as a form of entertainment.
             From the very beginning of Rap music there has been controversy over its value. Those who say that it has no value feel that Rap music is negative. Entertainers are criticized for being violent, promoting the use of drugs, and being demoralizing to women. While some carry this opinion of the music, others here the words as uplifting and inspirational. They feel that the music has bettered themselves. These people see the music as something positive in their lives, and will say that the music has value.
             As well as those who see Rap for having value also find the music to be inspirational to their lives. When one hears the music of artists who sing about positive things people take it to heart and make changes to their lives. They believe that if a rapper has pulled himself out of a bad situation then the listener can do the same. The music can inspire someone to do what he or she wants to do then the music must have value to the listener.
             Along with the value of Rap and the inspiration it may bring to someone's life, others see this form of music as entertainment. When it comes down to it, music is music. It does not matter weather it is liked or disliked by someone. What matters is what the listener enjoys. With many kinds of music out there right now who is to say what is good or bad, has value or doesn't, music is form of entertainment.
