All states require teachers to have a bachelor degree. It is expected to continue grow for the next five years. The main responsibility of special education teacher is to prepare the student to live on their own with minimal or no help. States usually give extra money to disable children for school usage. A few special education teachers use their off time to tutor individuals. Some states may require you to have a masters specializing in special education. Being a special education teacher is fulltime job with plenty of paperwork.
