The 4th commandment

The goal of this Commandment is to respect and love our parents; to obey them and to help them; and to respect and obey those in authority. This Commandment rings with a natural obedience, but is also sinned against much because of arrogance, disobedience, lying, stealing, unfairness, selfishness, impudence, irresponsibility, and irrational immaturity. Yet all of the Commandments are significant, I believe that the fourth Commandment “Honor thy mother and Father” is the roots for the other nine Commandments. The Ten Commandments do not allow people to dangle in knowing what to do. The Commandment establishes a principle of honor, or respect, in family relationships, it is probably also related to a specific concern. The first five commandments pertain basically to the relationship between Israel and God; the last five are concerned primarily with the forms of relationships between human beings. It was the responsibility of parents to instruct their children in the faith of the bible, so that the religion could be passed on from one generation to another. The commandments are described as having been written on two tablets. The opening commandments concern reverence for the one God, who will tolerate no rivals; the making and worship of graven images is forbidden, as is taking God's name in vain; observance of the Sabbath is enjoined. This Rule would automatically stabilize man's thinking, and permit man to rationalize the order of things.

This Commandment was set down for men and women to better understand that honor, love, respect, and dignity played a significant role in everyday life. fundamental ethical code of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The fourth commandment forms a bridge between the first three, concerned primarily with God, and the last 6ix, concerned primarily with human relationships. The Ten Commandments eliminate chaos where man's judgment is concerned, man's logic is made to make decisions of right or wrong.
