The Arctic Costal Plain Domest

There are many bills that are passed though the House of Representatives everyday. There are many government agencies and interests groups that are behind the bills that either support them or are against them. The bill I have chosen is the Arctic Costal Plain Domestic Energy Security Act of 2001. At this time and place I believe this bill is one of the most important bills that needs to be passed. Congress has found the nation's domestic oil and gas production is in a substantial decline and our dependence on foreign counties is unreliable. The United States currently spends over $100,000,000,000 per year for foreign energy. Within the next decade, the world production of conventional oil is expected to peak and enter a decline phase that will increase the cost of imported oil and the value of domestic oil. The Middle East is a highly volatile region of the world, upon which the United States cannot continue to grow more dependent for its energy. It is a major problem facing our society today and it is a problem that needs to be doubt with now due to the long lead time of 10 or more year required for development of a new North Slope field as well as the new problems that the United States is facing with terrorist in th
