The Romantic Period

If you were asked to explain the romantic period, how would you describe it? Beautiful? Lovely? Well to be honest, the romantic period is far from beautiful. It was often times very dark and mysterious. Edgar Allen Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Washington Irving are just a few of the gothic (and often times strange) individuals that wrote during the romantic period. But first, what makes a good story that would fit in the romantic period? Well to explain it in its simplest form, you just need detail. From the walls and pictures to the murder weapons and tone of the voice. These are just a couple examples of what can make a story as sinister and wonderful as these authors have. The stories written by Edgar Allen Poe

The way he details every move, it's very scary. He would use words such as dismembered and vulture, that send chills up your spine. , Washington Irving, and Nathaniel Hawthorne, are not only different and gothic, but also excellent. The talent he puts forth in this story is strange, but excellent. In all of the stories, the idea is detail. He had a negative outlook on life, obviously. " It often leaves you in a negative mood with a feeling that floats over you, in a way that makes you feel like the devil is around you. Washington Irving was very much like Edgar Allen Poe. This is another great author and a dark and mysterious man. It made the setting creepy and very disturbing. Edgar Allen Poe, Washington Irving, and Nathaniel Hawthorne are mysterious, which makes these stories wonderful and amazing. He said in his story: "With it's door ajar within which doubtfully appeared a skeleton. Edgar Allen Poe was not only an evil and disturbing writer, but also an evil and disturbing man. Every author leaves you on a cliffhanger and leaves you breath-taken. His words were very powerful and breathe taking.
