Although his birth date is unknown, it is documented that William Shakespeare was baptized in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. William was the third of eight children. It is most likely that he was educated at the local grammar school where he attained his formal education and knowledge of Latin grammar and literature. After completing grammar school, it is believed that Shakespeare became a schoolmaster school. In 1582, Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway, the daughter of a local farmer. Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway had a daughter in 1583 and twins later in 1585. In 1586, it is said that Shakespeare left Stratford for London after being caught poaching deer in a park of Sir Thomas Lucy, a local justice of the peace. While in London, Shakespeare began his career as an actor and later a playwright. Some people looked down upon the thought of an actor becoming a playwright. Shakespeare wrote plays and acted for the Globe Theatre, for which he was a partial owner. Shakespeare's most renowned plays were composed while he was a member of the traveling theater group, Lord Chamberlain's Men, later know as The King's Men. He felt that the assassination of the "ambitious" Caesar and the revival of the Senate was for the good of all Romans at any cost. Antony then enters and after pretending to reconcile with the conspirators, he is given permission to speak about Caesar at his funeral. The first example of this is when Cassius mentions the "great flood" to Brutus when he says, in Act I, scene 2, lines 150, Upon what meat doth this our Caesar feed That he is grown so great? Age, thou art shamed! Rome, thou hast lost the breed of noble bloods! When went there by an age since the great flood, But it was famed with more than with one man? When could they say, till now, that talked of Rome, That her wide walls encompassed but one man? This quote, containing an allusion to the past, is important because Cassius insinuates that Caesar is a wicked person and it is his duty, as it was the duty of Zeus and other ancestors, to rid the world of his wickedness. He is a very arrogant and self-righteous man who believes he is "invincible. In Act II, scene 1, lines 78-85, Brutus discusses the conspiracy in a short soliloquy:They are the faction--O conspiracy, Shamest thou to show thy dangerous brow by night, When evils are most free? O, then, by day Where wilt thou find a cavern dark enough To mask thy monstrous visage? Seek none, conspiracy; Hide it in smiles and affability: For if thou pass, thy native semblance on, Not Erebus itself were dim enough To hide thee from prevention. The recurrent theme of individuals in conflict with society is obviously shown between the Roman people and the conspirators. He primarily uses these to represent ideas of the characters, as he does when Casca describes the night before the assassination of Caesar: A common slave--you'd know him well by sight-Held up his left hand, which did flame and burn Like twenty torches joined, and yet his hand Not sensible of fire remained unscorched. He is cleverly manipulative towards both the conspirators and the plebeians of the Roman State. The time span of the play is between six months and one year. Brutus also fits the description of the Mother Goddess. In 1612, after writing 37 plays, Shakespeare, with his wife, moved back to Stratford. " Caesar is offered a crown during the Lupercal, which he rejects three times. He believes that their true disguises should be "affability" and that not even the darkness of the underworld could hide their conspiracy. In Act III, scene 1, lines 270-275, Antony's soliloquy shows his anger after the death od Caesar:And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge, With Ate' by his side come hot from Hell, Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war, That this foul deed shall smell above the earth With carrion men, groaning for burial.
