Toni Collette
The Australian actress Antonia Collette was born in Sydney, Australia, on November 1, 1972. She is 5'6" tall with brown hair and blue eyes. Collette is the eldest of four kids; she became interested in acting as a child. Her father is a truck driver and her mother is a customer service representative. Collette left school at 16 to enroll in a three-year drama class, and she then knocked around at odd TV jobs. At 21, she gained forty pounds to play the lovable, loser Abba fan Muriel Heslop in P.J. Hogan's international hit, Muriel's Wedding (1994); this gave Collette international exposure and broke through a global acclaim rare for Australian film stars. Moreover, this acclaimed actress is known to sink so completely inside a role, which most actors have a difficulty doing. Collette says it's a mystery to her and that all she knows is that she'll only play a role only if it "resonates" with her, and then she "digests" the part.
