Personal Statement
A Lesson on the True Meaning of LifeWhen I first read the Bible it struck me as neutral on the idea of worship. The Bible flat out tells me that God created humans so that I would be in awe to him. Another way of saying that would be, God created us to expand his ego of the place he created. I personally believe that I am put on Earth to follow my own path and find out what I think is the true meaning of life. In the story of "Job," God essentially makes a bet with the devil Satan that Job's worship is genuine and not
Even though the idea of a bet with Satan is well within Job's grasp, God claims that his purpose was inconceivable to Job. In the end, Job is not simply the dog, because he questions God's throwing of the rock. I believe that God was simply trying to reinforce the main idea that is critical to the continuance of human worship which is that with unimaginable power comes incredible intelligence and unknowable power. I am overwhelmed to find a being so powerful as to be able to create and mold the universe is only marginally more intelligent then his creations namely the entire population. In order to find the meaning of his own existence he creates the human race so that we might be able to evolve to a higher level greater then his own. I understand that everyone has his or her own goals even God himself. No matter how small or big the goal is, it is just as important in this world as any other person's goal. I suppose with all his power, even God himself cannot change everything. Perhaps then, God is trying to find the meaning of life himself. My goal is to have a chance to go to your college and find my true place in the universe or the true meaning of my life. In a broader sense, you throw a rock at my dog and I will swing my arm so it looks I threw it, and we will see if the dog still comes running when I call him.
