The southeast Regions is very unique It is one only the only regions in North America to have swamps. But when you think of the Southeast is all you think about is swamps? Well you are right swamps cover about 7/10 the of the total area. The rest is open plains. The people of this region are very diverse, Mainly in Florida due to tourism. I hope you enjoy my report. The Southeast Region lies along the southern coast of the Atlantic Ocean and the southern gulf cost. This region extends from the Atlantic coast on the east, to the western border against the Appalachians in the west. In terms of absolute location the region stretches from 25 ºN in the Florida Keys to 38 ºN in Virginia. This is a distance of approximately 1300 km. It also reaches from 76 ºW in Cape Hatteras to Approximately 84 ºW in the northwest coast of Florida. The maximum width of the region is 300 km. Mining in this region is almost nonexistent this is because the swampy and sandy soil has few minerals. Primary industry number relatively few in the Southeast. In this region there is a long history of living with hurricanes. Atlanta Is a major hub of communications. Atlanta Gorgia Miami Florida, Kissime Florida, Tampa Florida, Jacksonville Florida, St. Cotton is usually grown year round in the Southeast.
