Gandhi did a great many things like India's independence. He organized many more protests, and soon had a large group of followers. After that Gandhi decided to return to India. Finally the government released him, and agreed to some of Gandhi's demands. When Gandhi returned to India he was treated as a national hero, since many people had read his writings. Once in India Gandhi promoted nonviolent cooperation, and passive resistance to the British government. The making of the salt symbolized that the British could not take away from the Indians what was rightfully theirs for thousands of years. The idea that one man can rally together 350 million Indians is in itself incredible. Gandhi should be considered one of the greatest men that have ever lived. The lack of civil rights for anyone who was not British disgusted Gandhi. But when many Hindus and Muslims started rioting Gandhi became very upset. One of Gandhi's most powerful demonstrations was when they marched to the Indian Ocean and made salt. There are so many things that you can say about such a wonderful, selfless man like Gandhi who helped give the Indian people a voice. t class ticket simply because he was Indian.
