If the above suggestions were added in place, it would be more appealing to the general audience. The site does its job perfectly; it allows people to understand what the Islamic religion entails. I liked the Arabic writing on the main page, which states: Islam: Sultan al-Deen or Empire of Faith. Yet, this informative plan would be very beneficial to anyone browsing this website. There is a brief biography of each, yet I would have liked there to be more on the producer, i. The target audience is mostly like westerners, more specifically Americans. This will give you a background on the religion as a whole. These links contain information about the site itself, Timeline, Special Features, About the Film, Educational Resources, and a link to shop PBS items including this documentary. It is puzzling to me as to why there are no other sites or listings of Islamic resources available in this country to give those interested in learning more an easy access. I have to say that overall the creator of the documentary, Gardner, did an excellent job creating a wonderful, informative, credible, unbiased film. It emphasizes the positive contributions given to society from the Islamic/Arab culture. r each topic/category there are approximately three to five subcategories which give greater detail to the topic at hand. One aspect of the site that I very much enjoyed is under the "Special Features" section; you can actually view clips from this documentary and even send an online Islamic greeting card. The section on innovation might be one of the most surprising things to those who know very little about Islam.
