AIDS in Africa
The Monetary Value of AIDS in AfricaCountries, companies, and people are now uniting to fight AIDS, the scourge of Africa. Until recent years, Africa was a nation of death with no hope of regaining control. However in recent months, a swell of support has come to combat the AIDS/HIV struggle. Many people and the companies they work for have donated their time and money to the valiant effort. Not only that, but whole countries have brought forth their power to give money, to educate, and pay for treatment. Millions of Dollars have been raised to fight the epidemic. Bill Gates, Microsoft Chairman, has made the latest donation of one hundred million dollars. This of course is pocket change to Gates who is probably worth twenty-five times that! We the people, are not donating money and means to help the AIDS/HIV problem in Africa; we are paying the drug companies and all their workers. Even if there was a cure for AIDS, it would not save Africa. Organizations like the American Red Cross provide for most of the care. So we also take a step back even farther. Now, not all of the people, in fact, few can afford drugs if they were straight out of a pharmacy. Drug companies receive the money, but, we pay to have them distributed to the people who need them. However, this money is not the only form of help. In a way, we are helping, as we try to provide for these people and due what we deem possible. The companies of course are aiding the fight buy producing the necessary drugs, but they are also utilizing Africa as a "goldmine. Africa has caused a balance in our economy. These drug companies are making money off everyone of these people that are receiving care. The disease could never leave the continent simply because we wouldn't let it. Rest assured the FDA puts a limit on what the companies could charge, but still, that's and awful lot of money going to these companies. " Think about this; it is the perfect relationship.
