("A Plan for Stronger, Healthier Seniors") That's why the candidates for the upcoming election are trying to fix the problem of over priced prescriptions and to strengthen social security. ("A Plan for Stronger, Healthier Seniors") According to John Kerry Social Security and Medicare are growing at rates that will eventually bankrupt them and that could leave little to pay for everything that the government does. ("A Plan for Stronger, Healthier Seniors")The federal government already spends seven times as much on the elderly as it does on children. ("A Plan for Stronger, Healthier Seniors") He also believes that if we allow that ratio to grow even more imbalanced it would be unfair to today's workers and the next generations. ("Campaign Crossfire") He doesn't want to make young people to start putting their money into social security knowing that they won't have any money for them. " ("Campaign Crossfire") He believes that if someone was to come in to his house and take $100 out of his pocket for their health care or their benefit, that is theft. ("Strengthen Medicare") Medicare cards are delivering true savings to Medicare beneficiaries illustrated by the center for Medicare Services and the Kaiser Family Foundation from their studies. Senior citizens especially have felt the effects of this outdated system. ("Strengthen Medicare") These discounted prices at neighborhood drug stores are lower than those offered by popular mail order pharmacies. ("Social Security") He has also proposed to create, for the first time, the right for every worker to own assets within the Social Security through personal accounts. Senior citizens should be informed on the candidates' views on these key issues so that their opinions can be represented. ("Campaign Crossfire") Medicare, Social Security, and Prescription Drugs are all important issues in the upcoming election. ("Strengthen Medicare") Seniors will be able to choose the health care plan that will best fit their needs-instead of having that choice made by the government. Vote for cheaper prescriptions and improved Social Security for better health care. ("On the Issues")The libertarian candidate Michael Badnarik says "People need to understand that welfare is theft. ("Campaign Crossfire") And if you allow the government to take the money for you then that is government theft, in which he is opposed to government theft. ("A Plan for Stronger, Healthier Seniors") To make structural reforms in Social Security and Medicare that slow their future cost growth, modernize benefits including a prescription drug benefit for Medicare, and give beneficiaries more choice and control over their retirement and health security.
