College Vs Pro sports

             Sports are a major part of our culture. Many people grow up playing them before they can even tie their own shoe. They are glorified, taught and fed to us. We are taught from a very early age to pick a sport and pursue it. Most kids pick a sport to play with world famous players such as Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan or Mark McGwire so they can relate to them. Also they choose these sports because they are fun to play, that's why you don't see many kids pursuing in the art of lawn bowling or cricket. Without sports many kids would be obese due to lack of exercise, which has become a common sight in
             The real question which we must face every season is what to watch? College sports or Pro sports? College sports are an opportunity for amateur athletes to showcase their talents competing against other amateur athletes in hopes of one day getting drafted to the pro's where they can make the big bucks. Or professional sports, which consist of overpaid athletes competing against other overpaid athletes a pursuit to sign a multi-million dollar endorsement contract. There are far more advantages to watching college games then a professional game.
             College rivalries are a good example of this, where you can find such rivalries as Michigan vs. Michigan State University, Texas vs. Texas A&M, Army vs. Navy or Florida vs. Georgia when's the last time you saw a rivalry in pro sports? In pro sports, how big are the Rangers vs. Astros rivalry? Perhaps Red Sox vs. Yankees when it used to be DiMaggio vs. Williams but that was some 50 years ago. How about the rivalry Pistons vs. The Lakers in the late 80's that lasted about 4 years? There hasn't been one like that since.
             Tailgating is the ultimate experience. Coming out, eating all day getting hammered and setting up shop early on campus. To fans this is considered just as important as the game itself. At the Oilers' games, you couldn't even tailgate. Oh yeah...
