Car repairs, hospital bills, and costs of lawyers have all contributed to this. Alcohol consumption and its consequences have been estimated to cost our society $86 billion each year. Over 2,000 kids between 16 and 20 years of age die every year in alcohol-related car crashes. Students with grade point averages of D or F drink three times as much as students who earn A's.
