Haiti VS. Cuba

Is there a double standard that exists in US immigration policies? Are there preferences depending on what country you are coming from? Treatment between Haitians and Cubans, when they arrive to the United States, differs. When Cubans reach the U.S. they are racketed through immigration, and within a short period of time are released to their family. The American experience for Haitians is the contrary. The treatment is unfair, affects our lives, and may be possible to solve. This situation has at many times divided the community of Miami. This is a local and state problem. It affects anyone who is or knows someone that migrated to this country. Discrimination still occurs among us. The distinction of the ways Cubans and Haitians are dealt with is a prime example. Are there any reasons behind the method the two different groups are handled? The variation in management between Haitians and Cubans is a situation that could perhaps have a resolution.

This is especially true to Haitians. ” Cubans who make it to the United States are allowed to stay while others must establish asylum claims under more rigorous standards”, says the Us Border Control. Many people see eye to eye that the laws are unfair. Cubans have preferences that many other from other countries do not have.
