Cancer is a group of many related diseases. All forms of cancer involve out-of-control growth and spread of abnormal cells. If a tumor forms on the spinal cord, there may be weakness, paralysis, or numbness on both sides of the body. Surgical removal is the most preferred method because it is the least harmful to normal tissues. There are physical examinations to evaluate brain function. This method reduces the amount of the tumor that needs to be treated by radiation.
