A Cure for Cancer

In an effort for people to speed up the process of finding a cure for cancer, people came up with urban legends and myths to preventing or getting rid of cancer. In the spring of 1999 many people began to believe that antiperspirants could cause cancer. The Canola oil, which is said to by scientists to be one of the healthier food oils, was also once rumored to be toxic and cancer causing. Many more rumors came about, but have all contributed in finding cures for cancer now

A person can be tested to see if they are likely to inherit cancerous cells from a family member. Heat therapy is usually used in response to Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy because it has been learned that cancerous cells are very responsive to heat. It can be helpful in reducing the toxicity of the cancerous cells and is the most affective when cancer is diagnosed at an early stage. Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy can be affective in many cases but it does not always kill all the cells.

Currently there are no absolute cures for cancer. Many doctors and scientists are still researching more ways to find an absolute cure for cancer. Breast and Ovarian cancer are the cancers that are most likely to be hereditary. The disease can be treated by chemotherapy, which is the most common, radiation therapy, biological therapy, and heat therapy. Some people also use surgery, which is when the tumor is physically removed from the body. Whenever, a rumor about certain types of foods or activities circulates about causing cancer, a team of scientists, and doctors research the rumor in full extent. In the future, scientists hope that many medical advances will take place. The main goal of scientists now is to discover a genome map, which is the body’s materials list. Most of these cures will be based on the treatments that are being used today.
