Gay Marriage

The final argument people use is that gay marriage is not ideal for society. Legalizing of homosexual marriage gives greater motivation to remain monogamous and slows the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Within the heterosexual group people who are infertile are allowed to marry, though they cannot have children and keep the human race growing. population, especially within the younger group, has a minority where such relationships exist. One example being that the clergy disagreed with homosexual marriage, but after the law being passed anyway, the majority of clergy changed their minds due to reduction of suicide, reduction of sexually transmitted disease, and reduction of promiscuity and infidelity among gays.

People will also argue that homosexual marriage is an untried social experiment and therefore avoided. Gays are loyal, monogamous, devoted partners and are committed to making their neighborhoods and communities safer and better places to live. As people grow older, they become more mature and realize it is not smart to be promiscuous and begin to appreciate long-term committed relationships. Scientific studies have shown the outcome of same sex parents being just as good as one parent of each gender. It allows people to marry those to whom they are attracted and therefore lowers the possibility divorce.

This lifestyle being socially unacceptable creates a stigma on the homosexuals, and those who are uninformed, follow the traditional way. As well as, one of the major problems in this world is over population and it being that only about ten percent of the population is gay there would be no reason to fear for the diminishing of humankind. One can therefore observe a long running experiment to examine the results. There are those who believe marriage should only be one man and one woman and changing the laws on marriage? If because of tradition, traditionally it was acceptable to own slaves but by the nineteenth century, humankind realized the evils of that institution.
