There are an assortment of effects of smoking that can harm a smoker. They can affect not only the smoker's health but also the non-smokers around the smoker. Why should the people around the smoker suffer when they made the decision not to smoke? It slowly kills the smokers and non-smokers. People who choose smoke are more likely to develop serious diseases, such as lung cancer, heart disease, and/or emphysema. Why take the risk of this awful fate? Not only will smoking causes diseases, but it also can cause smokers to experience various side effects, which include heart burn, ulcers, and gallstones. There are many more diseases and side effects, but these are the well-known illnesses. Cigarettes contain unbelievably atrocious ingredients that are horrible for a person's body. Many people do not realize what a cigarette consists of. This is why no one should decide to smoke and why smokers should quit smoking. It not only affects the smoker but also non-smokers. People with emphysema may suffer from lung and heart failure. Side effects, such as heartburn, ulcers, and gallstones, are only a few that can occur. Lastly, emphysema, which is a disease that slowly rots your lungs, is a disease cause by smoking cigarettes. Your body should not have to endure these, nor should a non-smoker. There are many side effects as well as diseases. Again, I ask, why then do people put themselves at risk for cancer, chronic bronchitis, ulcers, etc? It harms the smoker's and non-smoker's body. Also, ulcers are a result of smoking. Ulcers, which are erosions in the lining of the stomach, are less likely to heal in a smoker. People with gallstones have bad abdominal pains. The carcinogens will eventually form a growth or tumor.
