quite categorically that it would not tolerate anybody being forced off the ship and on to Nauruan soil against their will.
             It wanted to clarify that that, in fact, wasn't happening.
             The Australian Government said that the 12 people brought ashore had been cooperative but only kicked up a fuss when they saw the media.
             To try and get around that problem again, the deal that was reached was that a Nauruan delegation would be able to go out and independently verify that each of the asylum seekers would leave the boat of their own free will.
             Now, somehow, there's been a breakdown in that process and no-one has come off tonight.
             As the Nauru Government says, the explanation is that they weren't ready to get off.
             What happens now, they've thrown the ball back to Australia.
             They say Australia will contact them when the next group is ready to come ashore and the Nauruans will go out there and verify their willingness to land.
             Now it's back to the Australians to find a group willing to come off the boat.
             TONY JONES: "Not ready to come off" may mean they simply do not want to come off.
