            Christianity and the Judaic Religion
            
            
             Specific Purpose: To inform my audience of Christianity from the framework of Judaism
            
             Central Idea: Christianity, or the belief in Jesus Christ, is founded in the Jewish heritage.
            
             Introduction
            
             I. Did you know that Jesus came as King on the exact day foretold almost 500 years beforehand?
             II. Or that the message of Christ is encoded in Genesis, the first portion of the Jewish Torah?
             III. Or that the arrangement of the Israeli tribes around the Arc formed a cross?
             IV. The religion of Christianity, or the belief in Jesus Christ as Messiah, is derived from the written prophecies inherent to the Jewish nation and their religion. It is my pleasure to acquaint you with a few of these mysteries, which decently embrace Christianity as a whole.
            
            
             (Transition: Let's first take a look at The Prophecy of Prophecies located on your handout.)
            
             Body
            
             I. Explanation for title "The Prophecy of Prophecies"
             A. Daniel 9:24 (preceding the one written on the handout)
             1. The angel Gabriel tells Daniel that at a certain date sin will be ended, everlasting righteousness brought in, and vision and prophecy made complete.
             2. These three statements are revolutionary in form and hence the suitability of "The Prophecy of Prophecies".
             3. Perhaps you've heard or said this in describing something that tops everything within its category, like "the virtue of all virtues" or "the toy of all toys". The same is used likewise.
             B. Daniel 9:25
             1. To understand the time set forth you must know that the word, "weeks", is used for a period of 7 consecutive days, months, or years.
             2. So then, 7 weeks and 62 weeks make a total of 69 weeks, understood as 69 periods of 7 years, which multiply to 483 years.
             3. We cannot yet determine the exact time, for the coming Messiah, because the Jewish year was based on 360 days whereas the decree is based...
