The History of Jazz Music

Music has always been surrounded by controversy. Boy and girl bands of my generation that target the teenie bopper fans have heightened that controversy. Elvis was one of the most controversial artists in history but he had talent. The girl and boy bands of today do not, and that is why they arouse so much debate today. One can not understand how a “follower” can like something so much as to scream at the sight of a picture, know every word to every song, and the history of every pop singer and members of a group. These pop sensations have absolutely no talent what so ever except to look appealing to the eye. They do not write their own songs, play their own instruments, make up their dances, or sing without the help of a computer.

Some of these pop singers definitely display wrong images. The idea that young teens get is that being pretty and popular is more important than being intelligent. This may sound misconstrued, but young girls get the idea that in order for guys to pay attention to them, they have to dress, look, and act a certain way. Almost every female pop artist dress in much too risqué a manner. Some of

. . .

Talent should be necessary in order to make it in the music industry or any other. This proves that looks, not talent, have the most to do with how successful you are in the pop industry. Many people would agree that God would not approve of wearing short shorts and tiny tank tops in revealing photo shoots, and altering your body in very dramatic ways, especially when 17 and 18 years of age.

As for the boy bands, one can not understand why 10 and 12 year old girls post pictures and obsess over a guy about twice their age, and dream that some magical day they will meet this man and end up marrying him. these girls claim that they have not engaged in sex and do not plan to until marriage because of morals and religious reasons. Also, when they record an album, a computer is used more than usual in order to make the voice of the singer sound better. Many of the lesser known bands of today continue their efforts in making music even though they do not gain popularity quickly and are not paid the salary of pop

singers today. For example, many people admire sports players but if that sports player was not good at the sport they played or cheated at the game, then not as many people would like the person. Thus, boy bands do not deserve the title as being a band because many would agree that being in a band takes much more talent than waiting for people to write your songs and make your music.

One has to wonder that if there was no one around to write the music and compose the lyrics of today’s pop songs for each of the singers, would they have the talent to even come close to what they are now. In spite of this, they continue to compose music on a wide variety of subjects, speaking from their hearts and relating to their fans in a much more intimate way. They continue to do this because they are much more passionate about their music because it truly came from them and their life experiences.

There are a lot of real bands in the world that are much more deserving of recognition than boy and girl bands of today. One can be sure that the fans of these pop singers would not like the fat guy sitting in his basement writing songs for their favorite band.
