The article entitled "An Armed Society is a Polite Society', emphasizes on the increase of gun permits after September 11th. They have stated that the most common phrase to justify gun usage is "An armed society is a polite society", state by Sheriff Jim Alderden of Larimer County, Colorado where 1500 people applied for the gun permit in the last two years after he had revoked the $100 fee following 9/11. The main concern of the article is fear. The fear of people and their safety after September 11th and their fear is general, especially for the citizens of West Palm Beach, Fl. Which was where the hijackers had lived in the previous months of September 11th. An estimated one third of those who purchased guns after September 11th are first-time owners. i am firmly against gun control, though i do feel there should be a larger limit on hand guns, not rifles for they are easier to hid, and if you are really owning a hun for safety of your family then there is no need to have a pistol ove a rifle that could just as well be used for protection's sake. People who grew up in cities, like Chicago knowing all about gangs. Do you think that they are going to end becuase guns end? Will hoicides and suicides and wars end because guns will be illegal? If the United States cannot keep out a weapon which at this point has about twice the amount than there are citizens in the United States. I think that with everything the United States has dealt with we cannot afford to spend more money on something that is not going to be controlled no matter how hard we try because i do not believe it can be, and i girmly believe if we try it will make things worse and bring extreme chaos in our society. The United States is a dangerous and terrifying place yet parent s send their ignorant and semi-innocent oblivious teens out into the world alone, where it is more than likely for them to be faced with many illegal acts, hoever we still do it. Though i do not believe fully in this article, i think there are some very good points made. After banning all guns and rifles in the United Kingdom, the amount of burglary went up about 50%. It is not a matter of no one doing anthing; it is the matter of there not being anything to do. Cirrhosis of the liver, from too much drinking, however alcohol can be bout just like cigarettes anywhere. The only war that had been won without some kind of weapon, involved Gandhi and the nonviolent protest, which will only work if the ones you are fighting are morally unwilling to fight anyways, by that time Indians greatly outnumbered the English and the English were just unwilling. However, Hitler and Nazi Germany were not so kind. You can send your child to boarding school, but there are still rules to break.
