Edgar Allen Poe
Edgar Allen Poe, was a very famous writer, mostly for writingdismal short stories and poems. He wrote many poems and short stories, such as the Black Cat, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Raven, all are very famous. Edgar Allen Poe was known through many places and times, and still is, he also had his share of good times and bad times. He lost both of his wives to death and faced an alcohol problem late in his life. Also Poe was Editor of newspapers and small town writings, and many famous people congratulated him for his well-respected stories and poems. Poe was born January 19, 1809, in Boston Massachusetts. After his mother died in 1811, he was sent to his grandparents in Scotland where he was given a classical education. Later he returned to his hometown of Richmond Virginia, where he discovered his sweetheart (Sarah) Elmira Royster, and were engaged. Then he began to write poems and short stories, some were not very successful, and did not go over well, but he kept writing. They said, "Someone reported that they heard a shriek coming from this house. Poe's writing brought him much joy. Soon Poe became very sad, for his second wife had died as well. One of Edgar Allen Poe's famous short story The Black Cat, was about a character (Poe) where he was happily married to a beautiful woman, and they had a cat with a white spot on it. As weeks passed, Poe realized the cat was gone, good he thought to himself, but people began to wonder where Poe's wife had gone. So one night while the man is sleeping Poe slowly walks into the mans room and kills him with only a single faint shriek coming from the man. They found nothing, so they all sat down together over the buried body, and had a casual conversation. Edgar Allen Poe was a great writer. They asked to check the basement, Poe agreed. They were all living happily together when Poe snapped and became very drunk. They searched and didn't find a thing, so they began to walk back upstairs to let themselves out, and Poe was feeling very good about himself. Famous people even read his writings, and some enjoyed them so much the mostly read Poe's writings.
