Interpersonal goals

             Every day people make goals such as new years resolutions, Christmas wishes and the more common place weight loss goal. How often do we actually go through and assess our goals and determine our progress? To most of us, not often; to some of us it's more like never. We tend to forget about our aspirations and dreams once we have departed from the heat of the moment. Previously I had discussed six of my goals and aspirations in terms of interpersonal goals. Now is the time for me to take a look at exactly how far I have come with regard to each one of those goals; have I accomplished them, dismissed them or are they still a work in progress. Seeing how goals are communicational transactions between individuals I will also identify the behaviors/strategies I used to accomplish my goals and attain the final state that my goals have fallen in.
             People perceive us based on how we present ourselves. They judge our character based on the first few words that roll off our tongue. What you say can and will be held against you; that is the essence of the definition of self-presentation. The purpose of self-presentation is to have people perceive you in a way that is favorable towards you. The manner in which you present yourself should favorably influence the impression of you as a person both in character and integrity.
             For example I previously explained two goals that fell under the umbrella of self-presentation. The first goal comes about during a job interview. My goal for a job interview is to indicate to the interviewer that I am an intelligent, knowledgeable and competent candidate that can handle the position being offered under any condition. The tactics I use to achieve this goal are geared more towards exhibition.
