Depression
When a person thinks about depression it is mostly always in a negative way. Depression is actually a state that most people go through in order to become better people; it is when this state is not taken care of properly that one's life doesn't go accordingly. In The Wisdom of Depression Dr. Jonathan Zuess describes his theories, encounters with patients, and ways to cope with the disorder as well as reasons why it happens. If the process is respected "it can teach us much about ourselves. It's not just a chemical imbalance in the brain." (Zuess, 1998, 4) Once a person is depressed they can learn to use this disorder to help better themselves; "depression is a state of transformation." (Zuess, 1998) The body and mind are connected although sometimes it seems like they are independent of each other. "The human body has the ability to heal itself"(Zuess, 1998, 6) over the years evolution has made its own mechanisms to protect itself from all problems. The changes that we experience can be distressing at times. First your mind becomes "preoccupied" with the problem, trying to find a solution. Then ones appetite decreases and sleep levels are not that high anymore. Finally after going through all these painful processes
When you wake up you should work with your dreams and find out what they hold underneath. The body's biochemistry gets worse and depression worsens. At the same time there are other methods to making your life work. Addictions are often ways to try to escape reality whether it is drugs or alcohol they make everything twice as worse. By simply drawing or doing something creative like writing a person could relieve a lot of stress. Medicine should not be used unless the patient really needs it and or is in the extreme level of depression. The source of your depressed response is the flow of one's creative life-energy, which you have in you. Many people that are majorly depressed are depressed during most of the day. "(Zuess, 1998) In unresolved depression problems that occurred earlier were never fully resolved and could disrupt a normal life. Dreams often hold the key to all the problems. Consequently when it is pushed back to the subconscious many people fall into addictions. When we become depressed we dream like never before. Last you should visualize a solution, think about what you are going to do. By giving the patient sufficient vitamins and natural supplements the side effects of conventional medicines can be forgotten about. The vital thing to do is inspect yourself and try to fix the problem yourself and if that doesn't work than a holistic doctor would be the best option.
