The curcible
There are many different types of Choices that we chose to make daily; there are good ones as well as well as bad ones. The problems lie after the choice we have made. John Procter was analyzed and faced an array of problems in the text The Crucible. His ability to over come adversity is what we can learn from him. What is integrity? Integrity is the state of being complete or undivided according to Webster's dictionary. Proctor has a lot of integrity throughout the story." ... But my name I cannot - because it is my name! Because I cannot have anther in my life! Because I lie and sign myself to lies! Because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang! How may I live without my name? I have given you my soul; Leave me my name!"(Act 4). This shows johns integrity because john knows that his sins would cost him his life and wants everyone to know that his name represents what and who he is. Miller uses this scene to expose john true character and all that he has been through and done lies with in eleven letters, which spells his name John Proctor. " A fire, a fiere is burning! I hear the boot of Lucifer, I see his filthy face! And
John is a good example of a tragic hero because he used his actions that spoke louder than his word all the way up to his death. What is a tragic hero? John Proctor is a tragic hero. A tragic hero is someone who goes through a transformation from good to bad and back to good as John did. John is a character that we should look up to, he had his ups and downs but most of all he over came adversity which is very hard to do. John quickly remembered what he was missing and he turned his life around with his confessions that alter his life. His sin with Abigail is his gilt that he is suffering from throughout the story. In act 1 Abigail says " a wild thing might say wild things. she thinks to dance with me on my wife's grave! And well she might, for I thought of her softly. John proctor forgot about that momentarily when he was concentrating on his sin instead of what was going on around him. And being what she is a lamp of vanity, sir. I have seen you since she has put me out; I have seen your nights". After john confession he didn't have any guilt he understood what was going to happen to him and took his punishment. But we need to learn to but those things behind us so we would not forget about the things that are going on around our busy lives.
