To kill a mocking bird is a book written by Harper Lee. This book is so good that it became a best seller. It also won the Pulitzer Prize in 1961. This book was such a hit it later became a movie and won an academy award. This story takes place in a small town in Alabama where three kids, Jem, Scout, and Dill dare to face their fears and a lawyer faces the public. The kids were curious about their neighbor, Boo, who they heard so much bad stuff about. One time they wondered off to see what he looks like. The kids almost got caught. In the end, the sheriff had decided to keep it a secret that Boo was the hero. One October night Scout had a school play. He honestly did not care about the color of the skin and he was the only one who believed that the colored guy was not guilty. It is a little slow at first but very interesting. So next time you want to read a book, read To Kill a Mocking Bird. He later on was escorted back to his jail cell, but on his way he tried to run and got shot and killed. He tried to hurt the children and that's when the scary neighbor Boo came to help the them. Personally this is the best book I ever read. I recommend this book to everyone with good taste. To kill a mocking bird is like destroying innocent people like Tom and Boo. They were innocent of the crimes they were accused but they suffered the consequences. The title To Kill a Mocking Bird is important to the story because the people who stood to get injured where Tom and Boo. They figured that it would be more trouble for Boo to get more attention then he could handle. Tom was accused of raping a white woman. hting because the other kids were talking bad about her father, Atticus.
